These are three small models that I had not had the opportunity to address for my previous Space:1999 exhibition (Migennes Collector 2012).
As it will be exibited again (Geekopolis - Paris / may 2013), this was the opportunity to look into them.

There are already finished, but I will detail the (finally quick) building process.
Shown here with their PE brother.

These three tanks appears in only one episode "The infernal machine", where are destroyed rather quickly !

These resin kits are produced by James Small, and are in scale with Product Enterprise, Airfix, and Warp Eagles.
They each require a supplementary kit: the chieftain tank Airfix 1/72 for axles, wheels and tracks.

The scale is usually given for 1/72 in line with Product Enterprise Eagles, Warp and Airfix. As for the latter, the scale is an endless debate, so I will say that navigates between 1/72 and HO 1/100).
In my other dioramas, I placed the Alpha moonbase kit's characters (~1/100), and they are going very well next PE eagles..

So, what can we found in the zip bags :

Model E
It has a cockpit inspired by the eagle's nosecone. From my point of view, this is the coolest of the 3.

Model H

Product Enterprise had produced this model in a set including small jeep, eagle laboratory and boosters.

Model F

What is the accuracy to the original models ?
Overall, this is pretty good. There are a few shortcuts with details, but it does the trick.

Curiously, the tank model E (with the Eagle-like nosecone), some raised panels would normally only be done with decals or paints. Anyway, I decided to keep them.
Highlighted with pink stabilo:

Similarly, on the tank model H topside, near the bubble cockpit, a detail has nothing to do there!

The quality of the molding is average, there are lots of bubbles and a lot of cleaning work to do : flash, warp...
On, the other side, this white resin is easy to work with.

Pulled this out of mothballs, hoping to finish my 44" Eagle. Started life as an A&B models Eagle but swopped out most most of the resin parts. - Only the shoulder pods and bells are of A&B heritage. Brass work all mine, as are the cage corridors, inclusive of landing gears which will be sprung. Small Art works passenger pod and Chris Trice mark 1 original beak (Very good version of the command module in my opinion. Thinking of replacing the shoulder pods with my own versions.......Anyway ...photos..

Hi Alphans...

MADsen has lifted of launch Pad 1 and have started on the first of his 5x 44" Eagles Replica builds... Finally...

I have started with " Housekeeping" (removing flash and other no essencial matrials) from the parts. All of the trimming and cleanup is done with handtools since I doen´t have any powertools (Proxxon, Dremel they have been stolen from me and I haven´t had the finacial oppertunity to buy some new ones yet..) so the work will be slow..

My 44 Inch Eagle CM is the very nice craftmanship from CT... which I have started on marking up and getting it ready for trimming and fitting.

The Pax Pod is from R.Burns. But I´m thinking of making a brand new Pax Pod in ABS or Perpex, build " from the ground up.." but for now I´ll continue with the parts I have now.

I´ll continue to update my progress as it comes along... so I´ll level of here at 1500 feet and enter the holdingpattern overhead navigational beacon Delta..

I have finally started work on my Eagle build!

I spent this morning trimming the CM parts supplied by Chris Trice and very nice they are too!

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...1&d=1366918492

I was a little nervous about trimming back to the markers but thanks to my Dremel it was fairly straightforward.

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...1&d=1366918492

I then removed the sensor dishes in preparation for the metal ones everyone uses. Taking Chris's advice I then use a rat tail file to prepare the joint for the filler.

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...1&d=1366918492

I then removed the rear of the CM in readiness for the next phase..... filling and sanding.

My brass stock arrived yesterday and I am now prepping plans for the jigs to prepare the cages and spine frames.

I am also expecting the landing gear from Eagle2010 which I understand has arrived in the UK today......I can't wait to get my hands on them. My thanks to Jerry for getting them done and sent out so quickly.

My thanks to everyone who has taken time to answer all my questions.........sorry if I have been a bit of a pain.

Cheers

Because I'm one of the most distracted, ADD model builders out there - here's some pics of an Airfix Hawk model. It's the other kit I've been tinkering with and a model I turned to as a boost to get me back into building after a hiatus.

As most of you know, this model is a close approximation to the Hawk. Perhaps a closer match than the MPC Eagle is to its subject, but still it requires a lot of work.

Instead of modifying every piece to match one of the studio models, I've elected to just detail it out so it looks better to my eye. I'm leaving the nose alone, although it could use significant re-work. I used strip styrene of different shapes to add interest to the sides of the body, and along the edges of that platform on top. Mainly combinations of half-round, and U-shapes that I had on hand from other projects.

To me it was important to at least give it a hint of being built with Saturn 1B parts, so I added the rounded channels to the sides of the body. And I even shaped and cut little bits of half-round for the details where the body flares out to the engine section.

It's pretty much ready for paint now.

RU Eagle Nosecone -Eagle One

I've just started my Replicas Unlimited Eagle model, and I'd like to make it resemble Eagle One. The nose cone assembly is well-cast in my kit, although it appears to depict some of the later Eagles with a thinner angle. I was about to glue them together before I checked this.

I'd like the input from those of you on this forum who likely know the differences a bit better than I do.

Adding a gap between the two halves would seem to give it the more rounded appearance of the Eagle One nosecone. Below is an image that I put together to check the shape.

This would also make the sensor piece fit a bit better. I've included a shot of what I think is the Eagle One nosecone, for reference.

Thanks!
