Started a new Project the MSV in scale with the SPV i have
just finshed ,started to frame out, the main body of the vech, in mdf that i saved a lot of money buying of cuts in the scrap box in homebase, £1.60 p
enough to make the whole body .

The build should be straight forward , so looking at a few wks to pattern the parts , before casting photos soon ,R/C Macs car will be worked on inbetween .

another Project i was thinking of building though the summer if we get one , will be the MEV ? or a suprise model that has been on my list to build for age's,

From, the Fantastic Voyage around 3 ft long ?

photos
soon

This model maybe my undoing…but here goes. Thunderbird Two, all 32 inches of green morning glory….well if I get the shade right. Got these warped fibreglass pulls from good friend Mamas (RCnut) about five years ago when skills were sadly lacking. Not sure who mastered it but still it’s something to work from.

Anyway discarding all the resin bits and pieces and just using the main fuselage halves- wings, tail and elevator box will all be scratchbuilt. A lot of shape issues with this one as would like to build a close copy of the first balsa model 32" miniature used during the first season of Thunderbirds, so the fibreglass body will be my blank canvas to shape, fill and carve. New windows too…. Oh did I mention that the pod will also drop out too?…..Thanks to lovely girlfriend who encouraged me to build this green puppy…

Out with the heat gun to make things line up…more very soon….
I hope the photos upload OK. I'm using windows 8 which is very frustrating on a laptop:wtf:

So I am currently in the process of making a Scott Tracy and would like to make a Mobile Control Centre for him to sit on when he is finished.

I've looked at as many angles as I could from screen grabs and come to some conclusions on rough dimensions. I have marked these out on a screen grab, and sorry for the poor quality.

I was wondering whether anyone had anything more definitive on the dimensions than my guestimation

I am hoping to make a good replica, however I am going to allow some room for not so artistic license as I know some of the stuff will be difficult, and out of my price range, to obtain - such as the original lights.

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated, whether that is on dimensions or any other light bulb moments that could be of the slightest help. I am currently just researching and prepping and am hoping to start the building come summer when uni holidays start:)

Thank you for any help in advance.

Hi All

Been a while since Ive posted anything and as the Mobile Project is moving on at a lick thought Id post up for some feedback.

As the title says its sub studio scale, for two reasons , one being Im a r/c tank modeller normally and these tend to be 1/16 so I wanted it to fit with the rest of the collection and secondly I wanted to use this to learn the shape of the beast before tackling a studio size one. Only problem is all the greebles then have to be made 3/4 size. Actually thats a lie the whole thing is a nightmare shape, found myself constantly going back in a and reshaping it till I was happy against the plans. The wheels wont be an exact studio match, I never liked them anyway so Im going to re engineer these, they will look similar (same spoke design etc) but Ive always felt they needed the rubber rims found on real Armour so will be adding my own designs to the running gear. Fully expect my membership to be revoked from the forum for this act. Will run on standard Hen long RX 18 circuit board so will have smoke and sound as well.

Quick question though, I understand there is a smaller version of the TIGER Joe tank, does anyone have one and can they tell me the wheel sizes please?

Fellow Thunderbird fans

Fellow Thunderbird fans
If you want to build almost any of the Thunderbirds auxiliary aircraft (or Captain Scarlet or other Gerry Anderson vehicles) you will probably be looking for an Aurora B-58 for engines. However, other B-58s were used as well.
I have compiled a short list of the various B-58 kits, most of which are available at least on eBay. The list is from smallest to largest.
Addar 1/200 (I haven't seen this but saw a listing on eBay)
Hobbycraft 1/144
Monogram (old) 1/121
Aurora/Comet (old) 1/96
Revell (old) 1/94
Aurora 1/77 (short in span, scaling out to 1/85)
Italeri 1/72 (readily avialable and accurate)
Lindberg 1/64
Revell / Monogram 1/48 (a beauty but BIG)

BTW, I have a spare Aurora B-58 for sale but postage costs from Canada are terrible (about 40 GBP to the UK by surface mail!) so I won't be listing it on eBay. However, if somebody wants it and is coming to Telford in the fall, we can talk. Email me at info(AT)belcherbits.com
