I remember, as a child, being particularly excited one week when the Saturday morning show during which Space:1999 was shown in my region announced that the prize for their weekly competition would be an "actual Space:1999 ray gun used in the series". I thought those little knuckle-duster stun-guns were way cool when I was a kid (still do) so I watched the whole show (normally I only watched the Space:1999 segment) eagerly waiting for the competition section. When it came up I was really disappointed that the prize they were giving away was one of the long laser rifles (I think either the 'armour-piercing laser' or possibly the 'rocket gun') , not a stun-gun, so I didn't even enter the competition.

The question is does anyone here know who did win that laser rifle prop? Or what happened to it?

I remember this competition announcement, and my disappointment about the prize not being a stun-gun really well but my memory is cloudy around the details of exactly when it was, or even what the Saturday morning show was. I can't even remember exactly how old I was at the time.

I think Space:1999 would have been screened about the time Tiswas was the normal Saturday morning kids show on ITV (this was in the UK), but I'm sure I would have remembered it more clearly if it was Chris Tarrant or Sally James presenting this competition and I don't remember it being any particularly memorable presenter(s). It's likely this was during the summer hols when the regular Saturday morning shows had a break and were replaced by temporary shows from the local ITV franchise (mine would have been Thames/LWT).

I'm just finishing up a full scale Dalek build and now want to challenge myself with a 44" eagle. Where do I start?
Ideally I would start with a manual, blueprints, materials needed and build diagrams just like a normal model kit I suppose, but I'm at a loss where to get this stuff.
So I've joined a forum for the first time and look forward to benefiting from others experience.
One other thing- the command module, like the Daleks dome, it looks like the only part I wouldn't fabricate myself. I scraped a line from the corner of the frame where the front window meets the bottom panel, forward towards the CM, forming a white frame between the side and bottom panels, matching the frames seen on the box art.

In later pics of the 44" Eagle 1, it seems this frame is missing?
