Hello from Bristol

Hello everyone, I'm Mark in Bristol. Like many of you out there, Gerry Anderson shows have been an important part of my life since childhood.

Over the years I've been lucky enough to meet the great man himself (kindly signed my box set DVD of the New Captain Scarlet a few years ago before his sad passing). I also really enjoyed going to the Barry Gray 100th gig a few years ago in London. That was worth it just for Brian Blessed doing the 5-4-3-2-1 Thunderbirds countdown!.

I have recently started building SF kits, starting with the Polar Lights movie Enterprise and am now building the 22 inch MPC eagle kit. It's going Ok although I had a bit of a disaster with the very fiddly top frame that ended up a bit wonky:oops:. But on the whole, she's looking good and I suppose it's teaching me more about modelling and the skills involved.

My main objective is to fill my home with all the SF hardware I've loved over the years. The Eagle has a space reserved on a glass shelf that's going to be my Anderson shelf with blu rays and so forth.

My next kit will be the Proteus sub from Fantastic Voyage which I have long wanted. That's if Moebius Models finally get around to releasing it:D

Attached is the Eagle so far on my 'work bench' (aka the dining room table:)). Sorry it's not a good shot, hoping to get a digital camera soon rather than rely on my cheapo phone.

Fantastic kits/builds on this site. Well done to all, very inspirational:thumbup:

Welcome and as for the 22" Round 2, practice makes perfect :) I'd also recommend the Polar Lights Flying Sub for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea..
