Hi Guys,
I had a post today 8th July reporting the death of Space: 1999 Production Designer Keith Wilson. We have lost a great talent from the worlds of Gerry Anderson. Thank you so much for a lifetime of enjoyment - Sleep tight mate. Last edited by Captain Sci-Fi; 09-07-2011 at 07:03 AM. Reason: Confirmation of this sad news |

I just read that myself. Hadn't seen it anywhere else. Very sad indeed. He couldn't have been all that old.

He's one guy who i truly admired ! From the outset of AP, he and others like him gave me my first real memory of Fireball XL5. God blessed us all for having him around, and God will look after him now. Goodnight and God Bless you Keith - you will NEVER be forgotten.

Terrible news, his design work on all the shows he worked on was so distinctive, individual and as a child when I watched then and now they were just futuristic and wonderful.

I had the honour and pleasure of interviewing him at a convention many years ago. He seemed like a really nice chap with a genuine passion for his work on the Anderson series.
I always think of him as "young", as he was so young when he did those earlier puppet shows. It's easy to forget that even a series as "recent" as Space:1999 began filming 38 years ago. Time flies too quickly. A sad loss.

Keith Wilson was born in 1941, he was 70 years old. Last time we saw him was a year and a half ago, when we did an interview with him. I think I am not mistaken when I say that it was his last video interview. You can see it on our main page website at www.space2099.com or on Youtube. He was a great man and he will not be forgotten.
