You should've seen 'em, Cricket. Between him and David Tennant they were like two drunken frat boys at a strip club. God bless 'em, they're great women.

I just hope this new Dr. Who is as easy on the eyes as Tennant. The few screen grabs I've seen of his other performances leaves me uncertain. If they are going after the 20-something crowd, at the least they can pick a cute guy to reel them in!

He does have to be able to act too.... me not caring two hoots about his looks. I like the way the last two Docs have been quirky and serious and scared and so forth. The new kid will have a hard act to follow actually. Dr Kane my household, excluding son and self, all swoon over the Dr so I know where you're coming from.

Barrowman gets 'em excited, too.

Until 'new Who' I don't know if the Dr or his male sidekicks were ever perceived as 'hunks' - maybe Frazer Hines? Paul McGann?

I'm currently watching some of the later Troughton stories, and the number of times you see Jamie being sent up a ladder, seems to indicate the programme makers weren't averse to exploiting the kilt factor !

You know, Bill Shatner has taken a lot of flak over the years about the technical quality of his acting but you have to admit he had screen presence and charisma. He made Kirk an icon.

Somebody mentioned Michael Billington in films earlier.
I remember him getting killed by James Bond at the start of.......
ach, canna remember. Somebody here will though, for sure.
I think Britt Eckland was his girlfriend in it. Would that be "The man with the Golden gun"?

I believe Mike Billington screen-tested for the 007 role several times and was supposedly very close to getting the part.

On the other hand, the rumour could have been a producer's negotiating ruse prompted by Roger Moore demanding a bigger salary.

I loved Captain Kirk. A womanizer who could still do the serious stuff. And I still remember the first time my family watched Arena....sunday morning waiting for S99 to come on.
My dad figured out the gunpowder and starting lecturing us on the subjec. But then, to him, gunpowder was just a toy and we made it with the chemistry set and blew stuff up....things were different back then.

spock still was my first love.

Yes, no matter how hard one tries one just can't hate Kirk.
