Default 232 Schwerer Panzerspahwagen 8-Rad

Hello again.
As mentioned over on the "Hubcaps?" thread, i've got one of these lovely kits and intend to SF it.
Now, after a good rummage through the bits box, i can't find anything suitable to replace the turret at all.
I keep looking at the incredibly detailed underside and have decided to change tack, flip it over, and have the underside as the upper hull of a spaceship now.
I know this kit was used in Star Wars, 1999 and, i think, Galactica but can anyone list instances - preferably with links to photos.
I'm sure someone somewhere made a ship the way i'm intending but can't remember at all what or where.
Any help'd be appreciated

Is that the vehicle where the turret is quite heavily placed nearer the front? The Tamiya kit had a roof antennae.

No offence, but it's a damned ugly vehicle.

These would make good sci-fi subjects.

The SDKFZ-231

The SDKFZ-234 Puma

The Russian BMP's would also make a good subject, as well as the 8 wheeled BTR's.

Parts from that kit are liberally plastered over many Space:1999 models. Techinacally the earlier version of the kit but I doubt if this later one much is different.

Cheers DX.
I'm sure i've seen in a mag or on the Net someone had simply upturned the chassis and made a ship from that.
Been so impressed by the detail on the recessed underside though that i want it to be the main feature, so here's what i'm going to do.
There'll be a ribbed tubular section seperating the two parts, but hope you get the idea:

Both Ultraprobes feature this kit quite heavily.
