Default Alpha mars base?

I was just thinking...I do not endorse these ideas..but we all know how movie remakes go, e.g. Thunderbirds(2004 movie), Lost In Space(1998 movie), Avengers(1998 movie) , etc.

If they do make a SPACE:1999 reboot TV Series/Movies, then will the producers eliminate the Moon setting and the "Breakaway" of the Moon with it.

As in the Gerry Anderson UFO television series will they bring the Alien Races to the Earth Solar System?

Will the producers move the action to Mars? Alpha Mars Base

If they liked the Star Trek Deep Space Nine, then the producers might park a wormhole in our Solar System near Mars?

Sure, and who knows. There are myriad ways to get the "Alphans" off on their journey. Let's just hope it's as good as or exceeds the original.

I guess it all depends on who gets the "rights" to the franchise. If its a true fan, we're in good hands, if not, well,.....

Would the wormhole orbit the Sun along with Mars, or just be near every couple of years? (or thereabouts!)

Default If they copy DS9, then...

The wormhole will stay there opening & closing like Star Trek deep Space Nine?

Um...No...I'd rather see the base be on the moon.

Do you think it rather be dull? Sanstorms for months on end and that covers the planet. The entire planet would be exposed to solar flares forcing the base inhabitants to take cover.Mars being so close to the Asteroid Belt would be at a higher risk of impact. At least the Moon does not have to worry about weather of any kind except for a solar flare.

Default Alpha Mars Base possible stories?

On Mars, I figure they would find some ancient structures...like excavating Egypt. Like in Moon in the Space:1999 "Mark Of Archanon" episode, they might find some relics underground of other civilizations?

Suggestions from other movies:
Total Recall, Martian Chronicles, Ghosts of Mars, Doom, etc.

Reality would be set aside for science-fiction narratives.

The Gerry Anderson original TV series UFO : Aliens continue to invade our Solar System ...so Alpha Base protects Earth by battling these Alien invaders.

I would not like to be the person cleaning all that red sand after a sandstorm.

I disagree. I think this would add to the plot lines, not detract.

Remember "The Last Sunset", when the Eagles had to deal with weather? This added action. Also, "Death's Other Dominion", the inhabitants had to live underground. Still interesting.

I don't think this show should have any connection with S99 though.

More worm holes?

Default yes, "Last Sunset" is the Alpha Base Mars

"Last Sunset" is the Alpha Base Mars example just think red soil and sky ...no breathable atmosphere.

If I did a Space: 1999 reboot, it would still be set on the Moon, but a wormhole would appear next to it following an explosion in space(caused by Nuclear waste) and the Moon would be sucked into it, ending up on the far side of the Universe, in an area filled with planets and Alien empires. The Alphan vehicles would include Eagles and Hawks. The main villains would be the Sidons, their world destroyed by an Earth probe which had fallen through another wormhole on its journey. However, new aliens and aliens from the original series would both be featured as well.
