Default 1999 on Top Gear

Always brilliant in it's choice of soundtrax for the various challenges tonites TG had the 1999 main titles for May arriving in his Morris Marina, and I'm sure part of Mission of the Darians proceeded it...

Yep - even my wife picked the theme out as it came on - always nice to hear it

I never thought I'd see the words Morris Marina in print ever again - the Bristish car industry goes to extreme lengths to neither confirm nor deny it ever existed! (shudder)

Could be worse, could have been Hammond driving! I hear he rear ended something the other week in his 100K+ Morgan. He ought to be more careful, or he'll get a name worse than Carter!

I often wondered if the eagles in Space:1999 had been knocked out by British Leyland - they seem to share the unreliability of mid 1970's BL products. I should know - I have had a few Rover SD1's.

The difference is that the Eagles seemed to stand up to some fairly hard crashes and still stay relatively intact. I don't recall seeing huge patches of rust on an Eagle except for the episode "The Immunity Syndrome".
