Default Ray Barratt

Sad to report that veteran Anderson voice artist Ray Barratt has recently died at 82.

I watched THE REPTILE only the other night and saw AUSTRALIA recently too. Sad news. A great 'Anderson' talent gone too.

Oh dear! His voicemaking was pure genius. As you pointed about his Duchess of Royston voice, this had the prodution crew in hysterics.

What a great man and what a sad news.

Ray Barrett had one of those characteristic voices, like David Graham, that set the flavour of the early series and his ability to sound gravely earnest. That and his wide range made him and David central pillars of the puppet cast. That's very sad news.

Yes, read this in our papers today, but couldn't get here to post the info. Died yesterday AU time in hospital on the Gold Coast (Queensland) Very sad. We knew him here as a great AU actor (last in seen in the movie Australia) A lot of people wouldn't be aware that he was such a central part of Gerry and Sylvia's shows. Very sad stuff.
