Cool. I remember being blown away by some of those pics years ago in starburst or starlog - it was a long time ago!

In fact I got into art college based solely on a model I'd scratchbuilt which was inspired by the Outland shuttle.

Hideous website though...

MBA model is brilliant! It is far superior to any model that I have ever seen built ...extremely accurate unlike the mass produced model kit.

I would love to have it too.

Just wanted to say that I am the lucky owner of this wonderful piece and it sits proudly in my Model room. This photo was taken in Bower's workshop in August 1986 prior to me picking it up and bringing it back home.

Oh you lucky bastard... Any chance of some close-up pics of the moonbase and launch pads? Would love to see some of that detail work...

Can we have the next convention at your house?
Please?

Is it likely that is the only Alpha model of that scale in existence? I can't imagine its value. I'd need to get bank approval and a second mortgage for that one!

I second that! Now all I need is a ton of money to get there!

Thanks so much for sharing... the detail is incredible on that model is incredible. Do the AMT/Ertl Moonbase Eagles actually work out to scale on a baby that size? I'm sure it's worth double the 1986 price you paid for that... if not more.
