Well, not really to defend Mr. Lucas, but he DID mention that film and "Dam Busters" as being the two movies that influenced the Death Star trench run!
And he used "Seven Samuri" as the basis for the lightsaber fights as well. Everybody steals from everyone! That's what the US government is based on!

That's the only difference between plagiarism and research.

To steal ideas from a single person is plagiarism, to steal from many is research!

Hey, Jade, that vid is very nice, that person did a really great job on that, almost matches the words up with the action! One vid that was really great was "the empire QUACKS back", which takes the audio from an old "Duck dodgers in the 24 1/2 century" cartoon, and uses clips from the Star Wars episodes 4, 5 and 6! Really funny stuff. I saw it on Youtube somewhere, so it may still be there!

Jade, thanks for posting that clip. That was hilarious, it matches so well. That person did a fantastic job with the editing.

I think the Battlestar Galactica case was ridiculous, personally. Lucas was really grasping at straws, like he invented space battles or something. Now let's see...what tv series had space battles before Star Wars, hmm...maybe Gerry Anderson should have sued Lucas.

Personally, I think he started the lawsuit because he was pissed at John Dykstra for "jumping ship"...Obvilously, the differences between "Star Wars" & BSG are greater than the similarities.
