I can't believe I never knew of this site.
I watched Space:1999 first run in Kansas. I can't remember the station, but I do remember having to watch it on the tv in my parents bed room as my sister had first choice of the shows on the main tv. I also remember it was on Sundays and pretty spotty as to when it was on. I watched the clock like a hawk on Sundays and was all excited when it was time only to be crestfallen when I found that it wasn't on that week. Ah, the memories. |

Hi to all. I've been watching this forum for a couple of years now, and finally decided to sign up!
I work in Orlando, Fl by NASA as an engineer and semi-pro modeler in the Space industry. Can anyone tell me how to put an avatar up next to my posts? Thanks, Adam |

Wecome. ajamodels. There's a section in 'The Commanders Office' on images and image posting I think you have to import it from an image hosting site not your drive. Your id/home page has the menus. I may be wrong (note my lack of avatar).
Bad news about NASA yesterday. Or so it played in the British media. The Times had a cartoon of an oriental astronaut on the moon. Caption was 'One small step for the China, one giant kick in the balls for America.' |

Hey, just found this site a few weeks ago. I can't believe that there is a forum for my all-time favorate space ship...the EAGLE!! I watched Space 1999 growing up, and had more toys from the show than I can remember...and I kick myself every single day for not hanging on to all of them. I've had all three (white, green, blue) Dinky Eagles, and the huge Mattell Eagle. Now all that I have is parts for a blue Dinky eagle that I found at a garage sale. Anyway, looking forward to learing some great info on here...
Just a note: I'm also a huge Stargate fan (if you couldn't already tell from my user name). |

Hi all. I've been a member since 2007, but I just did the reading of all the great info everyone here has.
I love sci-fi, but my favorites are Star Trek, Space 1999, Star Wars. I was 13 when 1999 came on TV. I was hooked. I love the Eagle. I put the stungun as my 2nd favorite weapon (Trek TOS phaser has always been my #1 addiction, er, I mean love) As soon as the model kits came out, I bought the Eagle and then the Moonbase Alpha kits. I never could find a decent stungun back then. The only semi decent picture available was in the "Making of Space 1999" (which I still have). They made those stungun water guns though. I cut it down, cut off the trigger, and shot my share of imaginary aliens. The innocence of childhood..I even sent a letter to Pinewood Studios. I asked that if they had any spare stunguns laying around could I get one. I actually got a letter back from them, with the bad news of no, none available. I have never scratch built anything. just put together model kits. Though I hadn't done that for awhile, as my wife was complaining I was spending too much money for the hobby. My Space 1999 collection is incredibly small. I have 1 Product Enterprise 12" eagle. I've got 2 stunguns; One is from CY Productions, already built and painted. The other is a Sidkit. I've had it for several years, but I finally put it together about a month ago. As soon as I'm allowed to post pics, I post some of the Sidkit. I thought it turned out ok for my first build in years. Thanks for having this site! |

Glad to see you have left your sanity at the door, you don't need it here! Also glad to see someone else interested in 1:1 scale replica phasers and the like. |

Just found the site this week as well. At almost 41 years old I grew up on the show. Just this week my mother gave me my Mattel Eagle from the attic. After cleaning about 25+ years of dust off it, I plan to do the ultimate overhaul on what was my favorite childhood toy...cant wait to get started.

Man, I wish I still had my Mattel Eagle...I even remember the day my parents mad me throw it away because it was broken and missing too many parts (like Koenig, I crashed my Eagle 1 a few too many times). I also lost track of my Dinky eagle freighter, and all but the pod on my Dinky transporter. Fortunately, I just scored a complete Dinky Eagle on ebay about an hour ago, and I have the parts to another one that I am rebuilding, so my small fleet is on it's way to being built. |
