Can anyone confirm or deny the existence of such a piece?
I am firmly in the They never did camp(much like the All White Eagle transporter) but am open to be proved wrong.

I think it's real.

I've seen a few of those versions at toy fairs over the years.

There was certainly variants of Sam's Car from Joe 90, Ed Starker's Car (a yellow one) and even the Patrol Car from Scarlet turned up in a weird reddy colour.

In a lot of the Anderson Dinky vehicles it looks like the painters were colour blind (let's not even go there with green interceptors or blue TB2s). Some of the 'rare' colour schemes would have looked better if someone had been sick on the toys...

And no that wasn't a freudian slip, I meant to say Straker's Car.

yes, but add to the fact the seller/s have quite a few 'rare' fab 1's in various conditions, it begins to redefine the term 'Rare', perhaps the Oxford Concise should read:
Rare: an item that there exists very few of but available en mass on the renowned commercial internet site EBAY where many formerly 'rare' items can always be found.

Its real, and tbh not that rare a variant. Dinky produced the dayglo FAB 1 from approx 70 - 72, from the end of the cardboard box era through the first bubble cases, much as the with the metallic green TB2. No way is it worth 100 plus unboxed and battered.

I agree with Dave - I believe this paint variant is generally known as Luminous Pink. What confuses me is just how rare this variant really is, as it was produced between 1972 - 1975.

D'oh! Chris, we posted at exactly the same time: I'm quite happy to defer to your expertise. I wish a definitive history was available ...

Sorry to drop in on this but is there a thread/explanation of just why Dinky thought that mad colour schemes would help their sales. Even aged 8 it was a bit baffling to recieve a metalic green interceptor for Xmas, I thought my parents had bought the wrong one.

I stand corrected but the colour was not the only thing i found questionable about this, they have another for 200+ in fact I'm beginning to believe that Tracendtrev or trevndtrace actually have every single Dinky Fab 1 in existence in their possession and quite possibly the worlds largest collection of 'original' missiles and harpoons.

Am I wrong to be so sceptical?

This is a genuine variation on the Dinky FAB 1 and good ones fetch quite a bit because they're rarer than the rest. Corgi also made a fluro version of their remake which looks even more ridiculous than this. This price for this example is just silly.
