Well Chippenham happens to be in Wiltshire...so if it is actually true OMG GERRY ANDERSON MOVED CHIPPENHAM!!!!!!!! its a bit soul destroying! All the works of art lost to the skip/incinerator... But quite a few of them are probably buried somewhere...just in a nasty place

Chippenham is indeed in Wiltshire but Cippenham is in Slough. One has to ask oneself why hypothetically they would go to the trouble of digging a hole to bury this stuff in preference to merely tossing it in a bin.

Because the bin would end up in a landfill too. But I did not know of two Chippenhams..I stand educated!

Notice the subtle but distinct spelling difference between them... :-)

I must be turning into a miserable old sod, but am I the only one who doesn`t find it the least bit funny? The loss of those wonderful puppets and props is a tragic thing, sending up those members who actually care (a lot) by issuing misinformation is neither clever nor funny. I remember the days when the Fanderson page gave up to the minute reliable and relevant information....
I know a guy who hasn`t seen his kid for years. I could phone him up on April 1st and tell him I`ve just bumped into them in the newsagent, but that wouldn`t make me funny, it would make me a tool.

Actually I do tend to agree with Chris K. I'm sure it's a dream of many that they would dearly love that story to be true so to raise people's hopes only to dash them was a bit cruel. However it's also clear, I'm sure, that wasn't the intent so despite it backfiring a bit, it's not the crime of the century plus it was rather too ludicrous to be true when thought about.

Ohhhh i see lol. That was me having a moment! Agree with Chris and DX its not a very nice thing to do, but then again i've always found that April Fools day is misunderstood and people do horrible things that they find funny...which are incredibly cruel on the target. As a result I just stay out of it and take everything with a pinch of salt.

even if it were true, wouldn't Cloud Base control tower be absolutely ****** after 40 years in the ground? Would need more than restored...
