Default Clearwater Films: adverts and model work

I would love to know more about the history of this company. There's not much about it online outside of a few bits on Tugs and Thomas the tank. Mitton and Turner apparently created, with David Lane involved somehow too. It says online that Clearwater set up a film company to handle Thomas and Tugs, but it ended in 1990, bought by Britt Allcroft.

I remember seeing Clearwater credited as miniature builder on a Quatermass TV movie with John Mills from 1979. Did they build models for many movies? does anyone know which ones?

I would also like to mention the 35mm periscope camera they used on those Clearwater projects, and how well the detailed sets were lit by cinematographer Terry Permane, especially on Tugs with all of the smoke. Very cinematic in the way that the Anderson shows were in the 60s (maybe even moreso)?
