Default Mike Trim Artwork

Hi everyone
I have just had an e-mail for a 'heads up' about a forthcoming auction. Mike trim is putting 23 original Century 21 artworks up for auction at Bonhams in London. The sale is due in June. The catalogue will not be ready till after 23rd May. Full details will appear after the catalogue is complete on the Bonhams website.
I thought this would be the best place to tell everyone.
regards
Stephen

I agree on the price of Mike's work. I think most people would love to have an original on their wall at home. Being able to afford one short of carrying out some kind of heist is another matter.

And yes I'm also from a very cold part of the UK .

Thats not quite right. I was fortunate enough to introduce myself to Mr Trim when his book came out (by post - not the book...me .. anyway). I was enquiring about the skylab painting he did for a book cover. I can now say it proudly hangs on my wall at home. It took all my savings, but, in todays markets thats not a lot, it cost the price of 3 unmade parker puppets ( as seen on e-bay) so dont give up trying. I know these pieces will be iconic but they should be reachable if you want one.
The book, by the way was, H S F Coopers House in Space.

I know , it was my poor attempt at humour ! I've always loved his work and am especially fond of the painting of the Thunderchild from "the War of the Worlds" musical album .

Well done on the skylab painting by the way !

Mike will do private commissions for people. If cost is a concern, he's produced some very reasonable pencil sketches on A4 for people in the past.

Mike recently did two paintings for me of a model I built based on his original UFO Interceptor concept sketch. One is of the Concept Interceptor in the underground hanger bay, and the other is of the vehicle lifting off from the surface of the moon. Besides turning out brilliantly, they were very affordable. As a result, I've commissioned another one. He and his wife Linda were also a pleasure to deal with.

Met Mike albeit very, very briefly at Borehamwood a few years ago and he is indeed a pleasant guy.

Or should I say 'Mike met me?'

I don't know if this is the right thread to add this but, in the Bonhams catalogue for Mike Trims work has anyone seen lot 90. Is it me, or does it look wrong? I though Martin Bower made it?

Auction descriptions frequently get the detail wrong although in this case it's arguably right. As I recall, Martin did build this and carved it from wood so he would be the 'carpenter'.

Here's pics I shot of the "carpenter" at work and a shot of it finished. I believe Martin did it in Jelutong.

Contrary to Bonhams' implied description this item is NOT the one fired thru the airlock, which was much smaller....in fact there were 2 or 3 of those, mounted on a tube inside the airlock thru which compressed air was used to launch them!
This one was fired by Nick Allder's crossbow down the Nosromo "armpit" set and is the one seen tumbling in that shot. He did several takes, each time with it crashing to the wooden floor, hence a lot of the damage
