one door closes, another opens...

while i weep for sixteen12's 44" eagle transporter, i've only just seen the photos of moebius models deluxe lost in space (tv) jupiter 2 museum replica coming in early 2011.

18 inches, 19 pounds of fully illuminated metal/plastic goodness. fabgear has it listed, if you want to pay full price ($1,500), but culttvman's hobbyshop has it for $300 LESS!

i can only hope that a matching chariot and pod are forthcoming (and in-scale)...

and that somehow, someway, someday moebius models has a deluxe 12"/23"/44" eagle transporter lurking!!!

There's never been a larger scale accurate injection moulded Eagle Transporter released to my knowledge, but the problem here is that the market is too small for such a product so I would think it's unlikely to ever happen.

Default Thanks for the memory....

The 1612 website has just been updated. The 44" Eagle Project has vanished. I hope somebody else can pick up the license and produce, say, 50 high quality replicas, charge shit loads of money for them and succeed where 1612 have failed.

++ THE END ++

Hey don't we all, there would be a ready market on this forum alone, let alone needing to advertise anywhere else.

Hmmmmm...I had not notice that...Indeed the 44 inch announcment has vanished from the main page..... I guess I won't have the choice and make my own 44 inch....

Anyway ot would be interesting had something to sell....From what I've seen, and I didn't check every items, but just about every item for sale is well....Sold out..... I don"t know how they can run a business when all your products are sold out for months....And no mention of when a new run will be available.... Let's hope the lauch pad won't vanish also.... I think I'll start taking an inventory of my Evergreen plastic sheets....

Default 44" Eagles....

Hi guys,

I have been following this drama with interest and it seems certain that Sixteen12 have dropped this project.

There are always alternatives though. Several members here (myself included) can supply parts for self builders. I have plans to expand this into an organised section of parts suppliers.

There are other opportunities with the recent sale of a few 44" replica's - one most notably from our own Chris Potter (w8cmp). There exists the possibility of owning a replica studio model built by him on commission. It is so good because he is passionate about the subject, has spent a considerable amount of time researching every detail and his personal standard of finish is sky high.

Bill Oram (unclebill) is another highly skilled model maker, witness his replica kits. Quality is everything to him. He strives for replicas of museum standard as a kit. A clever and thoughtful designer too, Bill is multi skilled and very talented.

Paul Gray is another passionate and highly motivated individual who has wanted a 44" studio replica badly, since the year dot, but not just any model. He has recruited engineering talent in his approach to building. His components are of exceptional quality and almost a bolt together nature.

With these guys and several more like them I am confident you could have just about any model your heart desires. Nothing is for free obviously and in exchange for months of work you will have to pay but in my humble opinion the quality is worth the fee.

The best part about this forum is being able to get in touch with this talent base and use it. Many modellers here offer support and good advice, a kind of Eagle Help/Support line for those difficult times.

Just a few years ago none of this existed, just imagine where we will be in another 5 years? More wonders await us.....

Thanks for the compliments & support Bernie.

Don't forget Chris Trice (DX-SFX) with blueprints and various parts (CMs, landing gear etc) which are available from time to time. You really don't get better than his parts for accuracy to the studio originals.

You know, although a logistical nightmare, I sometimes muse that if all the 'talent' on this board got together, they could be the best (and only) 44" eagle production line in the world! -you could make a fortune lads

Well, I've got 4 shoulder pods that could really do with a w8cmp paint job!
Is there a price list?

Thumbs up Leg Pods, just for interests sake...

It looks highly likely I will be stocking the entire range offered from Dakota in the Sky (Robert Burns).

I really like his quality and the price isn't bad if we ship in numbers. Leg pods will be my in next order.

They are really nice and comparable to the Command Module in casting quality.

Take a look here: http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...ad.php?t=15413

I think the price is 175.00 per set of four and these are ready detailed.

Anyone want some?
