Question Re: Orbiter Eagle/Alpha

I have noticed that there is a huge interest in the site about developing a computer generated 3D Eagle and Moonbase Alpha buildings.

As there is no seperate section for this interest I wonder if this activity is worthy of its own section so that enthusiasts can share their expertise.

Of course it wouldn't have to be limited to 'Orbiter'.

I notice that there are more 3D images on the site than ever before.

Does anyone think it is worthwhile that we have a discussion about a seperate section for computer generated images and models as distinct from the solid ones that are hand made?

alfalfa, you have raised a good point, it does make sense to separate the original style of modelmaking from the new CGI 3D computer modeling with a new CG section.

It world help to keep things organised between the two mediums.

I plan on mention this site to a friend .. also a CGIer and he has done some great Space 1999 Eagles and a Tut in lightwave. .. I hope to get some good space1999 modelling going in the future.

Thanks Steve for the support and also WELCOME TARANIS.

CGI 3D modeling is a closed book to me but I love looking at the beautiful work/renders you guys produce and I'm acutely aware that much of the 'model' work that apppears on our screens is actually CGI, eg Battlestar G (thanks again Lee S).

I think it adds a new dimension to our appreciation of GA subject but needs its own home to grow.

I look forward to the day I can walk around Main Mission jump on a Travel Tube and take an Eagle out for a spin in perfect CGI .

Default Computer section opening soon....

Hi Guys,

I hear the call, exactly what would you like in this section?

Software Discussions, Mesh Libraries, Drawing resources, Members Images, Beginners guide (this will be popular with us dweebs who don't understand how to make anything electronic) and a showcase?

Let me know and I'll provide the playground.

Good call Alf!
