Those customized ones from the Star Wars figures are great! The kiddies and I are casual Star Wars Hasbro action figure collectors(they do play with them and I repair them), and those are great conversions. I see customized Star Wars figures all the time. But the fact that you changed them into different characters from a different series deserves some kudos...

Those custom figures look great...was it ever revealed which Star Wars figures were utilized to replicate each of the Eagle characters?

I'm looking at GI Joe 3.75" tall figures to replicate some of the Alpha crew. Trouble is, most of them have too much of a tactical warrior look to them, even with some cleanup, filing and new paint. One figure that will work is the 1994 figure called "Action Astronaut". He was only available with a special commemorative set...but will clean up to be a good clone gor Alpha crew members in space suits. They are a little pricey but come with a removable helmet.

Ps.. ...let's try not to bid against each other...ok?

Wow, very very nice. Haven't figured out how to post pics yet (they're not on-line, would have to save them up to a location here..), but I've got my vintage Palitoy Koenig and Carter in the new space suits (using vintage T2 bodies when I figured out how to get the life support pack off..), and a custom Victor head from one of the Mego customizers..

I never liked the YR2 belts on the figures, so I just need to get to a fabric store to get a thin, narrow beige plastic belt.

I also use the Mattel stun guns/holsters with the new space suits and the larger Mattel Commlocks. I use the Talking Cyberman's cyber-rifle as a Alpha laser rifle ~ It's not a totally accurate depiction, but it still looks VERY COOL with the figures.

I liked how you used the Mattel Helena Russell head ~ At first I thought it would be too big for 1:9 scale, but it actually doesn't look too bad at all. I always wondered who did the Y2 Koenig avatar on the megomuseum forum, so I'm glad to see your pics.

Poor Helena though, her knee replacements are showing
Actually, fret not. I looked on the Catacombs site, at the pics from 'Immunity Syndrome' and Koenigs coat/collar actually look dark Navy.

Granted, it's most likely from the set lighting, but closeups still look interesting. I'm working on the same customs now myself. I'm buying a Security guard and using a Fantastic Four Reed Richards figure for him, to look more intense.

Here's one of my pics.. (work in progress..., like changing the numbers on the life support packs..).

I'm still stationed in Kuwait (9,000 miles away from my collection..), but will be doing a lot of custom work when I return..

Finally picked up a minty vintage Paul Morrow, so he'll be added soon.

Question: Is it easier to dye the white outfits (new ones, not the vintage..), or to take Victor Bergman outfits and just sew on a new sleeve (my original idea)..?

Just curious ~

david b, impressive custom work, you have done what the manufacturer should have done when they were designed. I have always been disappointed when officially licensed products are not accurate.

Sorry I never answered this, OME...I used Walrus man (Ponda Baba) for the male Eagle Pilot/astronaut and Greedo for the female Eagle Pilot/astronaut.

Thanks guys for all the compliments.

I guess the actress playing him (in the close-ups) did...LOL! The figure does not, though...But the frame is slight, so I went with it as a female Alpha astronaut.
