Yes you read that correct,i have been sent some images of the NASA `real`Eagle.

This was uncovered By Robert Law at The Dundee Observatory

You have to admit the concept is there

Yes, you can see how an Eagle Transporter could evolve from this early design configuration.

Interesting, a way to keep using the shuttle external tank and boosters, and if you look well the capsule is the Orion CM.
This shows a great amount of available technology to reach to moon in a easy way, but it look a bit instable to land and take-off from moon, and much unconfortable to live in CM during the moon excursion, but if it reach and go back from moon I don`t care for these things, great conception, it looks the future of astronautics, like the Constellation project and who knows the technology reach a point to have authentcs Eagles flying to space every day.

Serious, It looks recent, but can`t, now I remembered that NASA now is projecting spacecrafts to stay like a station awaiting to back to Earth and other just to land and come back to orbit, like Apollo`s project, I think it is to spend less fuel, so I`m wrong about the Orion CM, it could be a Apollo CM extended.

Yeah, those images have been kicking around for a few years. It was a nice concept for its day. Who knows, maybe we will still see it, although for a craft of that type, a CM with a heat shield becomes dead weight if the craft is only going to be hopping around on the moon. That is one reason why a lunar lander type vehicle seperate from the Earth return craft became what we went with on Apollo and considered for Constellation.
