Not sure Paul as I don't have it.

I'd seriously look at getting rid of NS though - it's a notorious resource hogger and slows systems to a crawl. All you need is AVG Virus Guard (free) and ZoneAlarm firewall (free).

Happy days.

It has been some time since i used Norton, check under the Options tab on your norton product possiably firewall settings for web content there you have a selection of (Global settings, user settings,AD Blocking) see what you can turn on or off, bear in mind this is an old copy i have on a test bed pc so things may have changed a little Hope that will solve your problem, Rob M

Click on the Norton Symbol in the lower screen bar to open the program (I'm using Norton Internet Security 2006 so I get a pop up window and have to click the "Home" button). Alternatively, click on the desktop icon if you have one or use the programme lists via the start button. A window will open and on the right it will say something like "Your Activities Online". Under that it'll say Web Browsing. Click on it and amongst the list will Ad Blocking. Click on that and it gives you the option to turn it off. It should say if it's on already.

In my case it's more like the blind leading the blind.

Thanks for the reponses.

It seems then that it's a fairly isolated situation - under 5% of users who have 'paranoia setting' active in their systems.

Lol, j/k - no harm being safe on t'internet.

I just enabled Prof Bergman's force field in Norton. There's a scintilating blue glow around and a throbbing hum coming from inside the computer. Didn't anyone else get the updates addressing Black Sun threats? I kept getting messages saying "Alan Carter has encountered a problem and will have to crash your computer. Do you want to send a pilot error report to main mission?"

All A-OK on my brand-ie new MacBook OS X and Safari... my first new computer in years! (and a heck of a lot faster load than my ancient Compact set-up!!) Now, if I can just get all my S99 bookmarks reloaded...

Cricket, sounds good with the MacBook. Safari handles the forum perfectly.

You are probably well aware of this, but I tell you anyway just in case because you mentioned bookmarks... you can export all your bookmarks from Internet Explorer as a boookmark file and import that directly into Safari. Very simple and saves a lot of effort.

Oooh... no, I didn't know that. My computer skills run in the cross-your-fingers-and-hope-it-works category. I have an 8 hour DVD tutorial that I will work through next week after this hospital shift is over. Just knowing I can gives me the patience to hunt around. Thanks!
