PE's choice to drop diecasts might just be that the "diecast" licence has expired. Most licences stipulate what nature of product is covered by the agreement.

Just had a look at the new PE/IR website. Just thought there is an amazing lack of attention to detail, specifically the SHADO Mobile has a Space:1999 logo next to it!! And the drivers look a bit on the small size.

And I wasn't impressed with the stripes on the TB2 model. Makes the SHADO mobiles look distinctly clean. I see that they are selling the SPV at the discount price of 14.99, so if anyone still wants one, sounds like a good deal.

Like others I'm not really in the market for such expensive models with no real space to display them anyway (eventually managed to find a spot for the 23" Eagle). But I did buy all their other diecasts (with the exception of Supercar), so in that respect I am pleased that PE have brought us these kits, even though I have had a few grumbles with some of the inaccuracies or bad paint jobs.

Only time will tell if the owner of PE is making the right decision. Best of luck to him.

As you and others wished. There is a difference.

Since its his company, who else exactly should be making the decisions about what it does? And is the suggestion here that Mr. PE should build things that he doesn't like simply because others do like them? If others want the things so badly, then let them build the stuff.

Foolish decision that has cost us the Hawk.
It can only be considered foolish if the standard is - "You do what we want you to do, not what you want do." You don't apply such a standard to yourself. So by what right do you apply it to anyone else? By what right do you complain that others don't live by such a backwards standard?

P.E. already had the licence, but failed to take advantage of it.
I have no information on this point. Did PE actually own the license to the Hawk all this time? What else did they/do they own? Alien ships from the show? What?

Touchy subject. Something they'll have to sort out with the big one coming out. Probably best not to go there at this point though.

Touchy subject? Why? Is there a question about license ownership?

And on that note; "Mind the doors!".

Let's talk about something else, eh?...

Seriously, it's time to move on.
