Hey Tony,

How's it going? I am in mount barker in the Adelaide Hills but will be moving to Dawesley (very small town a little further out in the hills) later in the year when we have renovated our new place.

So what is your passion that finds you at this forum... The Eagle? The show? Gerry Anderson shows in general? Modelling in general?

Cheers,

Lee

Default Quick Update

At last i have the front cage built, and am happy with the fit, after about 5 turns at getting it right.
The spine has had the original extra detail added, but i must have threw a few bits out,so ill make the rest soon
The broken CM hinges have been removed, and the new front cage piece lines up perfect,i still have a CM bracket to make,i have the U section, just not the time.
Rear cage is test fitted, but not glued.
Both walkways have been dirtied down,it does not show up too well on the images, but they have been

CM nose still requires a paint, along with the Passanger pod,i have removed the top overspray which showed the spine outline see first image at the start of this thread, when i sanded it it back down i noticed a few join lines, which are now filled, and require a top coat and dirty down

I have tried to use as much of the original parts as i can

so here you go,not long now till it goes on ebay.........Just joking

Very nice Donald, looking good! I was just about to enquire as to whether you had made any further progress but you beat me to it.

I sent you the instructions you were looking for... did you get them? And are they much help?

Cheers,

Lee

Default Where has the time went?

Ok its been a few months, and after a fall out with the hanger staff (the wife) we are back to work on this eagle.

(Apparently the Alpha Garden is more important)

The rear cages after a lot of work are finished, the front cage was finished the last time, but i had went too far dirtying it down,so i have had to lighten it a bit

the passenger pod is finally done,so i will rebuild what i have done, and get some pictures up asap

Default Quick Update

Ok,here we are again,i have picked this up and put it down now more times than i care to mention

this isthe 3-4th repaint of the passenger pod,as the first couple of efforts were pants.

i have went a bit OTT dirtying down the rear cage/walkway section,so i may redo this again

Upon a new year the golden light does fall,
and I hope it brings health & happyness for one and all.
Will this be the year my 23inch Eagle gets started?
And perhaps we'll see some new pictures of the Eagle that was 'Cartered'!!!

I opened mine I bought early in the year and the spine has some serious warpage. I've got it tied down to a piece of wood hoping it will become strait soon. If not I may have to see if theve got a replacement. Not a pretty site, and now I'm wondering if it does go strait will it then return to its bent natural state a year down the road.

Hi Hunch,

I got mine Jan or Feb last year and had the same problem with the spine. Ron was great though - I wanted to order some extra bits so he replaced the spine for me free & sent it with the other bits. The new one was almost perfect but last time I looked I reckon it had warped more. I have pretty much decided I will try to build metal frame based on the resin one supplied. RU used to have metal reinforcing in the spine but don't anymore - I can't recall the reason they stopped that.

Just curious - roughly when did you buy yours?

Cheers,

P.
