It cannot be that hard to write a decent SF show - I am currently watching reruns of Firefly on Horror and you cared for these characters within a few episodes - so its not all about SFX so how come the Beeb can't do it?

Dr Who and it's spawn are very good, I'm sick of Dr Who but Sarah Jane and Torchwood are essential viewing, in our house at least. Well scripted and innovative.

If the Beeb can't do new SF at least re boot Blakes 7, my Sci Fi hating family were glued to it (my dad had a real thing for Servilan). A classic example of a thin spread of goiong a very long way and shown at primetime when the proles are typically looking for a soap to watch.

Can't help stop wishing that if the Beeb got on the phone to Ian M Banks we could have a wonderful SF series for next to nothing.

Anyway I don't have the budget and all my friends who write Beeb scripts have been dropped, 'too intelectual' dear boy the thickies won't get it.

Also I'm not 100% sure but is that Earths moon they have cut & pasted around Carpathia?
I haven't been watching it but a friend who has (hoping something was going to happen) told me last night that both moons are very obviously just our moon plastered onto the sky. They couldn't even be bothered to come up with something different!

I have watched the first 4 ep's of Outcast & it's an absolute TURKEY. People are left on Earth because of the lack of ship to evacuate them all yet they allow brainchild boy to bring his vinyl record collection & decks so he can set up Radio One when they arrive. Mad Max meets Faulty Towers.
