Default BSG "clash of ages" Diorama

Hi, ive been thinking of making a "clash of ages"scene for my display shelf, im thinking an original series viper and new series viper in battle against an original series cylon ship and new series cylon ship, i was wondering if this can be achieved with already available kits (ie all in similar scale) and if so what kits would people recommend.

Any thoughts, suggestions etc?

Cheers,

Chris

You could have done it prepainted with Konami stuff but it is ultra rare and vv expensive. Obviously there is the mobius new Viper and they are hinting at a cylon raider. I'm a massive BSG fan, miss it like mad.

Karl everything you want is available at Comet Miniatures, I just checked.
You know I can't post links pictures etc.
However it will be cheaper elsewhere. Comet are not inexpensive.
Black Sun seem to have a good reputation.

Sounds interesting. Too bad they dont bring back the regular series. I found it refreshing for TV...well, besides the "shaky cam" film style. I could always do without that!

Thanks Adama. BSG is developing into a richly imagined universe. Blood and Chrome looks exciting.

Ok so first update,

Scale will be 1/32, and so far im thinking

TOS Viper - Monogram / revell colonial viper
New series Viper - Moebius Models Mk 2 viper

TOS Cylon raider- ?
New series raider - Moebius models (if they release it)

Ive been looking and to do it right i may want to try and track down some detailing kits, in particular a millenium models cockpit detailing kit for the TOS viper but they don't exist anymore so chances are slim, also moonbase models detail kit for the engines.

Already getting complicated hehe

Will update when i have made any progress, feel free to add input, thoughts, comments anything

I picked up a TOS Monogram Viper at Kempton toy fair a couple of weeks ago.
It was built & had a coat of nasty paint on it which looked like it was going through a reaction. I thought it was worth the 6 the builder wanted. I stripped the paint and it came apart pretty easily, except the tip of the nose which did'nt. It's a pity the original Monogram version never included a cockpit or windows but there's always the "get out" option of building the shielded version from the 3rd episode I think it was.

Healvis, i've been doing research and although not made anymore there was a really good cockpit kit , you may be able to track one down if you keep a look out, was made by millenium models i think the name was.

Good buy though, ill have to start checking fairs, carboot sales etc hope i find a deal.

Those cylon (?) raders where 100% unlike the the ones in the fist BSG shows. I have a model of the older cylon rader in my living room on dispay.
