Default Martin Woodhouse (1932 to 2011)

I've just come off the phone to Hugh Woodhouse who told me that his brother, Martin, died suddenly an unexpectedly last week. He apparently died from pneumonia.

Martin was a remarkable man whose achievements spanned from building one of the world's first 'micro' computers, to being a stock broker, taxi driver, novelist and scriptwriter. He was also as mad as a chorus of frogs.

I met Martin a couple of times with Sam Denham from this board; I'm sure Sam will agree that Martin was a terrific person.

I'm very sorry to hear this. It was a pleasure to meet Martin during the course of the production of Full Boost Vertical, and it was very good to see him (and his brother) finally being given overdue credit for their part in creating the series that had such an influential impact on the work of AP Films and Century 21.

Among Martin's many credits, he was also one of the writers who helped shape the development of The Avengers, and had been due to attend a 50th anniversary celebration of that series next month. Sadly he left us too soon.

Sincerest condolences to Hugh.

Sad news. Having watched the Supercar boxset recently, I thought Hugh and Martin were some of the best writers to have worked on the Andersons' series and deserved recognition for setting the tone for subsequent series.

He left a great legacy, a true inspiration.
