Default VIRGIN OCEANIC

I don't know how this has passed me by but I just stumbled across it. Richard Branson must be incredibly brave, because for me just the thought of being at the bottom of the Marianna trench in this gives me the willies!

Check out the Virgin site, what they are attempting is staggering and fist dive to the Marianna is later this year. This promises to be the media event of the decade.

To think that no one has been the 7 miles down there since the Trieste in the 1960 is incredible and a testimony to the difficulties involved.

Check out their site.

Good Luck to all concerned and may your God go with you.

I must admit I have a lot of time for Richard Branson and his projects.

There is still so much to learn under the seas that activities like this are of huge interest to me, in my opinion its as exciting as space exploration.

Virgin is also the company that is funding the makeing or Spaceship 2 and it's booter plane White knight 2.
BTW white kinght 1 is being used by the air force to replace the B52 on most of it's flights.

I'm sorry but if I was Richard Branson, there would be a Virgin Oceanic 2 and 7 mile of tow-rope at the ready if anything did go wrong!

It looks like the Virgin Oceanic is on its way to the Marianna Tranch for the first dive. Just imagine being 7 miles down, surrounded by deathly black, knowing that the slightest leak.....being all alone. VERY VERY BRAVE.

I'm sure he funds these projects off his credit card interest rates-discracefull -the rates that is, not the adventure

I have it on good authority that Richard sets the interest rates himself

He also cleans every one of his planes between flights personally

Does anyone have a date for the dive?
