Default Belated Hello from an Andy......

Hi all and i'll start by apologising for taking so long at posting on the welcome mat.
As some of you may know my names Andy ( lots of Andys on here.. ) and i'm 42.Married with lots of kids and up until recently was working in the building trade as a painter and decorator until made unemployed.
I'm now a fully qualified "house husband" while the wife works hard earning more money than i did.( made more sense to role reverse in our household ).
I loved the 70's ( who didn't?) and as a child had a handful of kits and toys all scfi/space related, from Dr Who to Space 1999, starwars to startrek, Blake's 7 to Buck Rodgers.
30 odd years later and all models and most toys, comics, books and annuals are gone. All thats left is a sad old guy wishing to recapture his childhood amongst the very threads of this great forum.
My modelling and DIY building skills are poor at best, but i'm keen to learn and you guys inspire me to "have a go" with some scratch building of un-kitted or rare ships from some excellent tv shows and movies.
I've recently purchased some model kits ( startrek and starwars related ) so if i get the urge to build pre-moulded resin kits ( Poorly build i might add ) i can.
Oh yeah and my painting and weathering skills are VERY limited, so please don't laugh at my attempts, i promise i'll get better....... or quit and take up train spotting.
Anyway i have a couple of scratchbuilds i have just completed and a couple more on the go for the summer so i may post once i have sussed out this image posting lark.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and i'll continue to random post on some excellent build threads.
Kind Regards Andy

Hi Andy,

Believe this when I tell you that the forum exists for people just like you. Been there with Dinky, Airfix, MPC, Revell and Aurora. Done that and bought the T-Shirt as they say.

I have scratch built the same vehicle at least a half dozen times, some where serious attempts to "get it right this time" of my favourite Anderson Craft, Stingray.

The Eagle has been forefront for the past 5 years now and I will attempt a 22" scratch build at the end of the year. I can hardly believe how much I have learned and tried to teach the little I know to those that wanted to hear. I have made new friends and enjoyed myself immensely, the forum is always evolving as we explore and make discoveries about the SFX powerhouses that developed the Sci-Fi universe that we play in.

We have so much more to go, pack a sandwich it could be a long trip.
