Ed Bishop is in that film too. It was on TV a couple of weeks ago. Remarkable number of people on one movie that ended up having an association with assorted Anderson productions.

Hi Captain I havent done anything for a long while due to work.

I reckon Gerry Anderson must have watched this movie at the time, its got Anderson hallmarks in the direction too. its a good film ive just got it, surprised ive never seen it before.

Don Mason also has a few other lines in this film, but only as a radio operator.

This question will be answered this week, when I add a small interview I did with Bob about five years back.

It's also answered in my book *cough* :-P

Don Mason from about 7mins30.

radio voice at 17mins.

also, Ed Bishop from 50 minutes.

Robert Easton appears many times as the top gunner with lines throughout the film, can see him sitting next to a young Michael Crawford then standing up on the train at 1hr4mins

I think Don used to work for a radio station in Canada.

Robert appeared as a radio operator in Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea movie. I wonder if Gerry got the idea of stingray from that movie?

When I watch Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and hear Robert Easton talk it's spooky - I keep expecting to see the Phones puppet, or hear him calling Nelson 'Troy'

I think Phones voice was based on Jimmy stewart, as was his face

Troy was James Garner - at least his face was

Yes, I remember Sylvia Anderson saying once, she liked James Garner, and if you watch the Rockford Files,Troy Tempest does look like him.
