Thanks for the images, well as no one seems to have a cast or be willing to do one, looks like I'll have to scratch build one-sigh!

All quiet on the western front?

Here's where I'm at today...

Clothes via my long suffering wife.

Bow tie, waist coat, paint retouch, hairstyle (needs a slightly lower hairline at the parting) and strings to go.

I have more screen accurate material for a second attempt, but I'm going to have to grant a few... favours before I can convince the Mrs to have another go.

What a beautiful job! Parker's totally looking the part!

As it sounds that you'll have him as a fully working string puppet, I sure hope you can film some performance with him to share!

Speaking of something needing filming..

Over here in Germany, there's a sketch by the almost forgotten Freddie Frinton called "Dinner For One". The Germans love it, and, if you ever celebrate New Year here - "Sylvester" as it's called - part of the festivities basically revolve round sitting down and watching this :

It's just struck me that it would be the perfect thing to do as a "Thunderbirds" spoof with Parker and Lady Penelope.

...@ ...@ ...@

Then again, maybe not.

I had a quote from a local seamstress for $240 + material + costs for time taken to source material.

So I found the materials online for $4.50 per yard and my wife made the clothes, with me offering encouragement, suggestions and a steady flow of fine chocolates. There were some tense moments, threats of divorce, and at one point I think she even tried to kill me, but we got there in the end.

That's brilliant for a first attempt!, Terrys eyes always improve things hugely as well, great stuff

SteveDix, I quite enjoyed "Dinner for One". I can sure see why you'd imagine Parker and Penny doing that sketch. Even before he's had a drink, James walks a bit like a puppet!

tibbington, there's a pretty detailed explanation of the eye and lip mechanisms in this neat article by Marc J. Frattasio: http://lester.demon.nl/superm/sfx/sc...fawn-head.html

Someone pointed out to me that Parker looks a lot like Noel Gallagher, if anyone's interested in making an Oasis puppet.
