Very stupid this guy. Let it broken down himself before somebody else could restore it. But maybe you get a much better version now? More exact and better/newer glasfiber-resin.

I say we've all got a brilliant deal with what he's very kindly allowed Sean to do. We're all privileged to watch this restoration and thanks to Sean being equally kind, we'll all get to see the amazing vehicle returned to its former glory ![]() He might have told us to go take a hike |

i'm sure he's a really nice chap for letting sean into his home. my understanding is that he was given the vehicle by his former employer on condition that he would not sell it for profit. therefore, a man true to his word. if i had that car in my back garden, i wouldn't want to sell it either. lets keep everything pleasant. it wouldn't surprise me if this chap, and mr read himself were reading these pages. |

This is such an amazing project and is already looking stunning...and in such a short time scale. Will be following and drooling as we go on this journey with Sean.
It really takes me back to my childhood and playing with my Dinky ( Strakers Car A great futuristic car design, up there with the Bertine Carabo which I had as a Corgi Rocket. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Carabo would SO fit into UFO. Keep up the fantastic building work. Looking forward to the next round of pics. ![]() ![]() |

Hi Guys,
Sean has sent me these latest images: The back end is coming on lots to do but its beginning to emerge. I decided to cut away the entire back section and rebuild the whole thing because it was just too far gone as you can see in the first picture. Regards. Sean. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Remember the trouble area on the back quarter of the car? The gap was half an inch deep, well we cut the whole piece and re-positioned it, and the gap is gone. Lots of filler still to apply to this area but its coming. Lots more pics to follow. Regards sean ![]() ![]() |

Sean, its amazing. Thanks for allowing us to share the ( warning...horrible word coming up ) journey with you.
Are you going to have proper hydraulic lifts on the door or follow the purists line and have a man running behind the car to pull open and hold the door in place when you get in and out? I am so eager to see the finished car that I wish I had a time machine and could zip forward..... Outstanding work. Keep posting and Thanks. |

i've always wondered how the prop man opened the door for straker.
![]() i mean, there are no visible door handles or recesses. maybe a gap at the door sill, where he got his fingers in. the other eurosec cars had recesses in the door panels. ![]() ![]() just curious, thats all. ![]() |

Love how UFO always imagined that we d have swapped to Left hand drive in this country in the space of 10 years.
Regarding the doors,is it possible that perhaps they were filmed being closed(dropped) with the film merely being reversed for opening? |

I've watched a few clips of the door being opened and they would not have been reverse filmed but however they did it, it's been done very well indeed. You don't see any reflections or shadows of a crew member hoisting the door up or down.
I wonder how heavy the doors were and if they could be opened by one person and possibly with one hand out of shot? I imagined they were heavy but maybe they weren't. A number of shots show the door already open after cutting away and then back again but if you look here you can see where the door opens and closes from 4'.52". |
