Default Soviet Jet Train

Came across this link and thought it may be of interest. Certainly looks like it would fit into a Thunderbirds episode.

A railroad in the USA tried something similar in the 1960s.

Along similar lines : There were a number of experimental monorails which I reckon the Century 21 crew might have drawn on, for example the SAFREGE SNCF test-track monorail near Orleans, as featured in the film of "Fahrenheit 451".

As that article shows, there was also another over-the-track monorail built in France.

And of course, not forgetting the Wuppertal "Schwebebahn", which is quite close to me.

The French experimental Aerotrains were like something out of Thunderbirds. I have had the pleasure of sitting in the remaining original trains and visiting the remaining monorail track South of Paris. I'll put some pics up soon.

The following website run by a good friend of mine has some great material worth a look - though all in French of course...

Look at the Aerotrain 02 and the Aerotrain I80 HV - straight out of an Anderson series...

That looks like the Joe 90 monorail in the Mike Trim book.
