Hi Alfred,

I am a big fan of your work, it's great to see you post a build.

I was able to extensively photograph both the original studio models recently, I placed all the images in the reference section of the forum, here is a link:

I know you will want to work in yet more detail after seeing the images, I was also very careful to capture the correct colour but bear in mind that Martin Bower repainted both the models for exhibition so they are not in "as filmed" condition. If you need anymore reference material just let me know.

NB. the darker coloured Hawk model was made by Chris Potter from one of Jim Small's kits.

Wow thanks! The colours won't matter much as I'll be going w another custom paint job. Hopefully the RU resin masks well, I'm a little worried about that given how slick it is. Man those models are looking rough!

Hi Alfred,

No problem, I hope they images help out.

They are the real deal and now over 35 years old, when you consider that they were both made in less than two weeks it is an incredible achievement.

The pics really show how free form the detailing was. Obviously I'll have to pick and choose what to simulate but I've already scratched the 2 bomb carriers under the spine cage and squeezed those in there.
