Default was wondering how big an Ho 1/87 scale Ragle and moon buggy would be?

Hello all,

Can Anyone tell me how large a Ho scale 1/87 model Eagle and moon buggy would be? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
I look foreword to hearing from you on this, and I Thank You for your time.

Well, the opinions range from 88 to 110 feet, so you'd be looking at a model somewhere between 12 and 15 inches long for the eagle. Asfor the buggy, it would be no more than an inch long

We already had several discussions about the size of a real Eagle and therefore the scale of the different models used in the production of the show, and the toys (for instance Dinky) and collector models (for instance PE = Product Enterprise).

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...ale+discussion

If the 44" Eagles used in the production of Space 1999 were 1/24th scale, a PE-Eagle would be 1/96 scale. The 1/24 scale was determined by the 1/24 Gemini astronauts, sitting in the Eagle's CM (CM=Command Module).
Compared to the life size CM interior, the Gemini astronauts are of course too big...

There is a second option:

Go for a WARP Kit, the PE Eagle was based on this kit:

And the 23" PE Eagle was based on the Replica Unlimited kit

Thanks for the info, only problem is a model as expensive as the PE model is is way out of my budget. I could not justify spending that much on a small model kit, and would be pretty much in the proverbial dog house if I did. why I am wondering if scratch building would be a better way to go?
