Default Length of an Eagle?

ello all, my name is dave and.............i love space 1999...............(waits for applause, not a sausage). after getting a digi freeview box i caught space 1999 on telly. oh joy! and it has rekindled my desire to make my own..........im 40, just, and am pleasantly surprised at the dearth of info about the programs and all the related ephemera on the web. so where do i start...........44" model IT JUST HAS TO BE!!!!!!!! scratch built except for the command pod. i have down loaded james murphy's 3D file and have redrawn it in google sketchup purely as an exercise and to see how it can be broken down into componant parts. now im well impressed with mr murphy's drawing. my only question is.............. is it accurate enough to work from? i have scaled it to 44" nose to tail so i can measure up etc etc and have read everything i can find. i know a fine set of plans is available but i hope to circumvent the need for them. so as to when im starting not a clue but i have my list of suppliers in hand only the cash is missing at the moment.

Try scaling it to 43 & 1/4 inch which is the models true size.
