Default 1/48 Apollo CSM

Here's what I got in the mail today:

I've always wanted an Apollo CSM in scale with my Monogram Lunar Module. The detail is crisp and appears to be accurate. This is the only Block II kit in this scale that I am aware of.

Some day... I will build it.

They have lots of great space kits in all the right scales.

Wow, that does look nice! Resin, I presume?
(I, too, would like a kit to go with my 1/48 Monogram kit.)

Yep, it's resin. There's a decent amount of flash, but it looks like it will clean up just fine. I'm thinning my unbuilt WWII aviation kits to narrow the focus of my collection (and to pay for things like this). My WWII stuff is going to mostly be exotic aircraft like the ME 163, ME 262, Gloster Meteor, P-80, etc. in 1/48th scale (at one point, I seem to have been of the mind that I was going to build one of every kind of WWII aircraft in 1/48th). The other part of my collection is 1960s-70s spacecraft in 1/48th. I have the Mercury/Gemini set, an unbuilt X-15, the Lunar Module and now the Apollo CSM. There's a company the builds resin Vostok and Soyuz capsules, so I'm going to go that way when I have the money. I also have a grand dream to someday scratch-build a 1/48th scale Skylab and have been collecting info for a long time for that project. Collect-Aire models http://www.collectaire.com/ has a 1/48 X-20 Dyna-Soar that I'd like to get, someday, too -- even though the real one never flew.
