Default Spacex Nuclear Freighter NF2

I am a big fan of the Triang Spacex toys and absolutely loved them as a child. I have since recollected them all. I decided it would be neat to make a larger, scratchbuild of some of them and have started with one of my favourites, the TB2-like Nuclear Freighter NF2.

I loved these toys as a youngster. They were cheap enough for me to buy with my own pocket money.

I didn't know there were so many in the series. I only had 7 of the ones you posted.

My favourite was the Nuclear Freighter. It reminded me of TB2, which was my favourite TB.

Your upscaled version is very impressive. Good work.

Cheers
Eddie

Wow! I had some of these, but under the name "Golden Astronaut" I had no idea that the space station and the launch pad existed! Somewhere I have an oil pastel liftoff of the Nova lifting off. I also sent off a design for a space station to these people as a kid...circular is shape. What can I say? They taught us to write business letters in 4th grade... Cool buildup! How about the Nova next?

Super Cool! You're right about NF2 looking like Thunderbird 2,the one called Recon 2 looks like a Space version of the SR-71! Good Luck with Your Project! Dan

Wow, that build-up is simply amazing !

Is the large model on scale to the golden astronaut figures ?

Thank you. I hadn't thought about the scale relative to the Golden Astronaut figures, but I suppose the larger version of the craft will be a bit more in scale. What I'm going for with these replicas is to get them all roughly the same size as each other, like the toys were, rather than in scale with each other. This is mainly because of the limited amount of display space I have available.

Blast from the past....I remember having the yellow Pleasure Cruiser....always reminded me of TB4 in those colours. I would never have remembered owning it unless you had posted those pics...

Wow, I never heard of these before! The NF2 scratchbuild looks great IMHO as it has a nice blend of the toy colors with a certain "Meddings" feel with the pencil panel lines and Letraset inspired markings all over it. I love that colorscheme as well with the green and yellow.

Are those deodorant dispensers for the engine pods? They look great!

Rocket Ship Hawk also has a Meddings/Anderson vibe going for it, probably due to its resemblence to an Angel Interceptor.

The engine pods are made from highlighting pens!

Wow , talk about a blast from the past ! Looking at that collection literally brought a tear to my eye , as I used to have quite a few of them . For years they existed as a half forgotten memory and I was unaware of what they were called , whether they were part of a "legitimate" range or just some cheap "knock-off " . Priceless . Thanks KevinD .
