Default December 2012

Seasons greetings to you all,

Please forgive my absence from the forum for the past few weeks, I've been a bit ill. A combination of an old smoking habit (now kicked), stress, old age and excessive work load have taken their toll and I had to step back to recuperate. I offer this advise to anyone who will listen, DON'T SMOKE. My children certainly never will after seeing what it has done to me.

Top of the list is the sad news that Gerry has passed away.

Much of my childhood imagination was shaped and inspired by his works, even into to my adult life. We will all miss him and I am consoled by the legacy of what he has left behind. We all know each other because of his work.

I was really upset to miss the Cosford event. Everything I have heard has been positive and Brian Johnson attending was a real coup thanks to Paul Stankevitch I saw some of it on my iPad. I will make the next one if Chris King decides to run it again.

I have been so bored whilst bed ridden and have taken up the pencil and paper habit just at first to make notes and then to sketch so ideas wouldn't be forgotten, I'll share some of what occurred from my notebook over the next few weeks. I can never sit still for too long and at least I managed to get some of Mike Readers sketches translated into CAD, so I should be adding engine bells and other parts soon. I sent out the completed drawings for production estimates and will know prices and availability soon.

I am starting to get up and about more each day and should be fit enough to resume regular posting and production work after New Year, apologies to those waiting for me to "get on with it".

Thanks to:
Andy Hopkinson you are a top bloke, Sean Robinson (good luck with the RSA move and latest film projects, we'll catch up soon)

To all my forum friends, I will catch up with you all over the coming weeks, I promise

Lastly, thanks to Chris Dye, congrats on the promotion, commiseration's on not getting the Singapore job and I will hopefully see you before you head back to Germany.

Have a good, happy and safe New Year best wishes to you all.

Bernie.

Amen. Lungs are an important part of that whole "breathing" thing.

Glad you're feeling better.

Hi Bernie,

Sorry to hear you've been unwell, but it's good to hear you are on the mend! Get well soon!! Anything I can do to help, you've got my number ...

Very saddened to hear of Gerry Anderson's passing, the end of an era.
