"series will be produced using a unique mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets"

About time some one did this!

The excellent motion capture of New Captain Scarlet' married to real models and real sets actually exploding is surely the way forward!

I really hope they proceed with this and do it RIGHT!! we've had enough of people fiddling with a winning formula, last film by that Star Trek guy was almost undefendable, we need a clear story structure, Thunderbirds that pay homage to the originals and lots and lots of massive explosions with people in peril that can justify IR getting involved in the danger zone. The inclusion of WETA is a good start but there is a long way to go before we can start to celebrate Gerry's greatest creation, the last attempt to put an Anderson production "UFO" was anounced quite a while ago and does not seem to be proceeding. So we should watch a wait with baited breath to see if this can really be done.

Strange they've waited a few weeks after Gerry died to announce this. I had a feeling this might happen for some reason - but at least this sounds like it could be cool with miniatures and cgi. I suggested a mix of miniatures and cgi a while back funnily enough.

I know this might sound harsh but the last revamp was utter dross and i'm only interested if they don't change or alter the five Thunderbirds, the look of the original Thunderbird models beat any redesign.

Doesn't sound harsh at all and I totally agree with you. I quite liked the movie TB2 [ the film itself was rubbish as we all know ] and don't mind a few 'very minor' changes but they should keep the same overall shapes.

And I hope they make it more adult too so it's not a kiddie flick like Frakes's travesty.

Well Lets hope they try to get the character's voices to resemble the original character's voices too. But I agree, don't change the Thunderbird Design.
