I saw it once in 3D IMAX and came away scratching my head. It was visually stunning, of course, but a lot of it didn't make any sense. I've read several reviews and digests on what it was supposedly about but not much of that makes any sense, either. I bought the BluRay disk mostly for the extra features hoping I'd learn something but when I run them my player crashes! Ugh.

Sounds like you might need to update your player firmware. I've had one or two disks that jumped in awkward places - fortunately only rented - but a firmware update seemed to fix the problem.

You're probably right - I didn't even think of that because it's a fairly new player. I flashed the firmware when I bought Avatar, which was my first BluRay disk. But it makes total sense that Ridley Scott would put out a BluRay with the latest version on it.

Don't worry the movie really doesn't make sense. This is the best review of it I have seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x1YuvUQFJ0

You are not alone!
