Thanks Delta, I figured the 2 upright pipes were maybe meant to be exhausts? The hydraulic pipes all seem to connect to this area so maybe it's supposed to be a secondary motor to drive the rams? The girder bridge studs are placed centrally because to my eye thats where they appear to be on the screen grab and It would also make sense because under braking all the mass of the vehicle would be pushed through this central point and the studs would act to re-enforce the structure and protect the cab. I'm not saying anybody else's is wrong, there is a lot of interpretation on this model and I don't think any 2 would ever be the same.

Blu-tacked some pieces on for a rough idea of proportions. The car sits very high because the axles have not been bent yet so thats ok, but I think the dome is a little tall. I added half a tank wheel on the back of the engine because I thought it looked a little bare and needed a touch of detail. Feel free to blast it all criticism helps.
Thanks John.

Looking good John. Will be able to get the full impact when you bend the axles - will make all the difference.
By the way, what colour red is that?

Thanks Jim, Dave. The paint is called "Marabu Buntlack" & is scarlet red. It is very good paint and can be had for around 7.50 for a 400 ml can. This is what it says about it. The satin-matt professional spray with superb coverage and very good application for a fast, even colouring. Marabu-Buntlack has a good light fastness and is ideal for: decoration, graphics, promotion and design purposes. The finish is touch-dry within about 10 minutes, and once completely dry is wipe-proof and weatherproof.
The complete Buntlack range contains no CFCs and is suitable for use on polystyrene.

I've done a little work on the trailer but not much else. I had to pack a lot of stuff up because of decorating. I also bought the Thunderbirds dvd boxset last week from HMV for 20 which was a bargain I thought. It did help me to understand a few things better though, especially the lower coupling part which joins the trailer to the car. The parts I was working on which for some reason I am finding very difficult to make are the intake inserts which Mike thought might be tap filters. I have managed to make one that I'm happy with out of plasticard so I will use it as a mold to make 2 good ones and see if it looks ok. I also bought the wrong jetex motor from ebay which I was also going to cast and use.

just a bump to see if anyone has been building? need inspiration to finally build one.

although I am looking to see if I can get an original wheel/tyre. I missed out on one a while back and is the main reason for not starting yet.

Mike here's a wheel I think is pretty close to the Keil Kraft. If you want it let me know and I'll send it to you. The tyre is not rubber but a thin plastic. You could make a good mould from it. Dims are just shy of 3 1/2 and are 1 1/4 thick. It does look a lot more balloon than the Dubros.

I always thought the tires were R/C model airplane tires. They come in many sizes and are inflated, and look exactly like these.
