That's really, really cool. I'm new at this, but how do you put together the pieces from different kits?

Hi

Sorry I've not been around to reply to the questions and comments re my Scorpion-I'm one of those people who totally models sci-fi for months on end then loses interest and goes totally into something else-in my case Fleet Air Arm models so the Scorp is currently sitting atop a book case untill my muse returns!!

As for pics well the best refs are those on the BattleBuck site -these were taken by Jim Small so are his copyright and also Gary Cannavo the lucky sod who owns the original miniature plus other Buck ships, most of the Colonial Fleet and the Cylon ships..

The other pics are from screengrabs enhanced in Photoshop and blown up as far as possible-there are some nice pics on the Universal Hartland site though they are quite small-tho having just gone back there I'm sure some of the pics are new.

Therefore allowing for the paucity of clear refs a lot of the details esp around the lower rear section are approximations and plain inventions.

After a year sat on a shelf the Scorpion has progressed some more-,a rash of stress fractures in the canopy put a stop to having a detailed cockpit, the glazing will now be painted black/dark grey as per the miniature.
Today I bit the bullet and turned to the Tail fins-for this I laminated layers of clear plastic from CD cases and then cut and filed them to shape:-

Also fabricated first pair of brackets for weapon pods.

LOL, now, where did I read about your oohs and aahs recently, mate?

Hell yeah, I'd love to see anything more on the Scorpion Steve, it was looking pretty close to finished in those last pics. Go forth and PAINT IT young man.

Moving house is one of the most stressful things we subject ourselves to. Take your time...but not too much, some of us originals are getting up there!

Cheers
