Default Burglary !!!

Hi Folks,

Some B*st**d has broken into my Mum & Dads house.
They went through all the draws in my bedroom and Mum & Dads, all they took was jewllery, it must have been quick cos they only went in a few rooms, my Mum's purse was on the table in the living room and they never touched that, the other thing is is that they would have had to pass very expensive props like the Tripod and Baby Orac and lots of other things.
It must have been very quick, cos Mum & Dad had only left the house for less than an hour.
The day before a bloke came to the door saying that we had some broken slates and he'd do it cheap, there are a few broken slates, but thats around the back of the house, so he must have cased the place out.
This may or may not be connected, dont know.

Andy H.

Dear Andy -

Hoping that both you and your folks are OK. First and foremost.

Glad no one was in the house when this awful thing happened.

Hope you were able to provide a description of that fellow to the local authorities, and that he'll be caught before this (or worse) happens to someone else.

It's a truly terrible thing to have to go through. I've been through it at least twice, in my time.

All of us out here, I'm sure, extend our concern and support.

What a sorry world this criminal must live in to rob from the elderly like this.

Please extend my best wishes to your mum and dad I'll look forward to seeing them on my next visit.

You know the way I feel now, I'd hold the blowtorch myself....

Thank you so much to all of our fellow members who have sent support.
I know this is basically a Si-Fi site, but I like to think that WE ALL CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER AND THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

There are some BASTARDS out there, don't let them grind us down.

(Sorry Bernie for saying that last line, but I'm quite angry at the moment)

Hi Andy,

Sorry to hear about this. Hope your mum and dad are OK.

From what you've said, it sounds like the burglar(s) were after stuff that's fairly untraceable and easy to sell. I suppose to the average person in the street, things like the Tripod and the Baby ORAC would not mean very much, and they would not be readily sell-able, which is quite lucky. Thank goodness they didn't trash the place, that would be a different story.

Apart from the items that were taken, the worst thing is that someone's been in the house. I hope your mum and dad aren't worried and they're over the worst of it.

... oh yes, and pass the blowtorch when you're done with it.

Sorry to hear about that. I know how you feel, a similar thing happened to me over 20 years ago, a bit of jewellery taken and some cameras, the thieves carefully moved two original Blakes 7 costumes and an under construction model to get at them!

You have my sympathy.

Andy, as hard as it is, it's best to keep calm when things like this happen. The important thing is to get your parents back into their daily routine and try to assure them lightning doesn't strike twice. Seeing you upset will upset them. And if the police catch the thief get their name and kick their head in.
