how the hell did they manage to keep straight faces recording that? very funny watching that as a few weeks back there was a feature on the programme in the MAIL on Sunday .the lady asking if anyone would like to play her maracas actually married both the guys in the band, not at the same time i might add. reminds me of the seamen jokes in captain pugwash.
cheers Paul

They crossed my mind as I watched that too. Master Bates Seaman Staines... I don't know how the Pugwash people ever got away with it. Still, the guy who controlled Gigantor (the space aged robot) was called Dick Strong so... or was that Jimmy Sparks... he was the kid.... Oh I forget, but Dick Strong was certainly in it.

Interview with Geoffrey Hayes of Rainbow here:
http://www.tv.cream.org/creamup/haye...fellow_low.pdf

He mentions double entendres towards the end - and pleads innocent!

Interview from the wonderful TV Cream site (http://tv.cream.org), which is probably bookmarked by most people here anyway.

They didn't. That's all urban myth along with 'Roger the cabin boy' (his name was Jim).

Its just far funnier to remember the program with the 'smutty' names though.
