My Top Toy, was Hotwheel Sizzlers,i think they are still to this day on the market in the USA
http://hubpages.com/hub/Hot-Wheels-Sizzlers

You charged the cars up for 90 seconds, and let them rip on a wide track, they went so fast you had no idea who had won.

Awesome album, nearly as good as `Chaquitto Plays Themes From TV Thrillers`, but that`s another story....

hi, saw this thread and thought it might be worth mentioning a shop I went into last week in Warwick. It was full of vintage toys including a huge plastic eagle, must have been at least three feet long and looked like it had a lifting hatch on the CM into which figures could be placed.

The shop was called Metropolis Vintage toys and has a web site: www.metropolistoys.co.uk.

I bought a made imai Joe 90 car. Standard was OK and was itching for an example. Looks good on the shelf.

There might be items missing from your collections. Good Hunting.

I love the Mattel Eagle. I did a public display once and exhibited it with some other merchandise. The reaction was amazing - `where can I get one` all day long. Beautiful toy.

One word - Micronauts. A series of action figures, vehicles, strange creatures and buildings from the late '70s. I remember seeing a small display of them in a newsagent's window in a nearby town in 1977, and being struck by their weirdness - they really did look like they'd just landed on Earth!

The first one I owned was the "Photon Sled" (and it came with a "Time Traveler" figure), and I kept on buying them ... and I still do today.

The shop is still there (although it has changed owners over the years), but whenever I'm passing, I look through their window, "just in case" ...

The Mattel Eagle is an excellent toy/playset. I still have mine that I got as a boy in Christmas 1976, box and all. It definitely rivals(surpasses) the Star Wars Millennium Falcon toy/playset.

So I wasn`t the only one who spent 1978 searching for Acroyear and Space Glider - eventually I wrote to Airfix asking where I could get them only to be told they weren`t importing the whole range. Still have the letter somewhere.

Hmm. This thread showed up in a Google search, promising me Takara Henshin Cyborg pictures.

I see no Takara Henshin Cyborg pictures.

Oh well, seeing as I'm already a member here () I'll post a few of my pics. Nothing exciting, or even particularly interesting, but mine.

Neo Henshin Cyborg, Denys Fisher Cyborg, Micronaut Time Traveller

I'll update that pic soon and add a 70s 12" Cyborg and a clear GI Joe.

Eagle eyed Action Man.

Action Man Storm Trooper (1st issue)

Action Man British Infantryman

Matchbox Ghost of Cap'n Kidd

1st issue Dinky TB2

Dinky SHADO 2

Corgi Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Dinky MSV

Dinky Interceptor

Matchbox Flying Bug (1974)

If anyone is interested in more Matchbox cars from 1970-1976, I've got about 80 pics (like above) on my Flickr account.

A few years ago I visited a Star Wars exhibition of the original props and costumes, and was quite surprised to see who Ben Kenobi was in the distance speeder shots. Look familiar...?

Hint: We can rebuild him.

You'd be even more shocked if you saw what was under the bonnet of one of the full-scale landspeeders. The 850cc Engine and chassis off of Tamworth's finest, the Reliant Robin.

Matt Mason, yes a real fave, brill TV commercials.
Cyborg, Mutant and was it the Android? I only have a mutant boot and a cyber squirty arm now.
Micronauts, still got some, excellent Marvel comic adaptation.
And can I put in a plea for the man....barely alive?

Yep , it was Android ( not quite as good as the other two , it had a missile firing chest mechanism that wasn't up to the job and sort of spoiled the figure ) and the Micronauts Marvel Comic WAS excellent ( I've hoped for a colour collection for years , I read it as a black and white back-up in the U.K Star Wars comic ) .

Default Corgi Rockets

For me it was Rockets all the way....

This made a birthday very special, I always wanted more cars to fill it though. I was given a couple of track kits, boosters, hair pin corners and banking towers from a cousin who stopped collecting. Huge nostalgia...

For me it was toy cars especially one featured in my favorite TV shows. I started collecting them again a few years ago, but as I could not afford original mint and boxed ones I took up buying and restoring old beat up ones and also making new boxes for them. Below are some of my favorites I have restored.
