All is well again.

Now THAT'S scientifically implausible! A real Aussie would never screw up a barbecue!

I do like the premise though - Season 2 was just a bad dream (for us as well as them). Or maybe a trashy novel that Paul was writing in his spare time!

Friedburgers -

Ham...you have Blake's 7 scripts AFTER season 4 ? What the hell happens in them ? I'm really intrigued ! Clearly they were written before the decision to pull the plug on the series was made by killing everybody off !

I have two, I forget where I put them, somewhere in my B7 stuff no doubt. One of them was written by Paul Darrow no less: it dealt with a planet where an ensor type scientist is constructing androids he hopes to sell to the federation, but Avon proves that strength and stamina are no match for clever and sneaky.

The alphans pass through another wormhole, and find that they were passing through a region of space known as the ' freiberger zone', which distorts reality and causes a temporary lowering of intelligence levels. Much of what occurred during this time is discovered to be illusion and delusion. Barry morse emerges from a shielded underground bunker and advises them all to regard it as a bad dream that is now over, and it is discovered that maya actually can only transform the size of her bustline and the rest was all in her head.

Episode 1 of the 3rd season begins with various Main Mission personnel waking up (in season one uniforms) in the Alpha cafeteria, after apparently being unconcious for an indeterminate amount of time. They are all very confused, and relate to each other the strange hallucinatory stories of altered clothes, strange female aliens that can turn into rubber wetsuits, and some guy called Tony (Sandra has a particularly chilling story telling of lots of screaming, and the inability of anyone to pronounce her name). As the episode continues, Dr. Russell finds that the mass hallucinations have been caused by a batch of "Manna" (the yellow fungus that grew on the Moon during the episode "The Last Sunset"). Apparently the latest batch was not correctly treated for hallucinogens, and eveyone who ate them experienced what is now known as the "Frieberger Syndrome", named after the 20th Century's most infamous substance abuser.

The 2nd. season alphans find a duplicate of the moon on their screens: thealphans of that moon inform them that the 2nd. season crew are actually made of 'freiberger' or denatured matter during the transit of one of the mysterious unknown forces in one of the episodes I can't quite remember the plot of. They point out that the 2nd. season crew are obviously deteriorating and the only way to 'save them' is to merge the two moons. After the process, the new 2nd. season characters are 'normalized' and more stable: maya can no longer turn into absurdly different sized creatures but has a much larger bustline, and tony is allergic to beer, and never talks about it:instead, he talks about his more socially acceptable hobby, which is collecting porn.
Also, barry morse in now commander of alpha, because he's just a lot more emotionally stable than john. Oh, and they have a hanger where they keep all the space ships and equipment that showed up during the 2nd. season but were never seen again after the episode they appeared in: for example, there are about 5 swifts there, and brian the brain is now used to clean toilets and clear land mines.

"...and it is discovered that maya actually can only transform the size of her bustline and the rest was all in her head."
"...maya can no longer turn into absurdly different sized creatures but has a much larger bustline"

There seems to be a pattern emerging here

Maya is actually a Guardian of Piri (V2.0), and has caused the Alphans to imagine the whole thing while being in a catatonic state. Due to a strange magnetic disruption in space, she malfunctions and explodes (just like the first one did), leaving only her breasts (which are quickly and stealthily gathered by Alan and hidden in a storage box under his bed - "for purely scientific purposes" he later confesses).

A man can dream, can't he?

That would not require a very big box.

"Wait a minute," Says Koenig "Wait a minute! I've just discovered that the Dorcon's guns look like a tube of toothpaste."

The other Alpha personnel are surprised - first that the Commander has resorted to this cliche he hasn't used in a while, but secondly because they haven't noticed the "toothpaste" gun, or that the teleportation dome looks like a big lump off the SS Daria.

Screen goes fuzzy, as if in flashback...

"It's an attack, John," says Bergman "Alpha is wide open!"

etc, etc.

Anthony Valentine's alien from War Games appears on the screen looking very frustrated. "Have you humans learnt nothing? We wanted to show you the consequences of your actions and a decision we hoped you would not make, but you didn't listen! Therefore we gave you another chance. Now, please, don't do it again and no more of those "police Squad" style endings with jokes about Tony's beer. What about using that piece of sad music and giving a homily on the human condition like you used to do, huh?"

Default Zahala

I would bring back that stunning actress that played Zahala in Dorzak and have her as a crew member and a girlfriend for Alan this was a missed opportunity for another great addition.
Also bring in Paul from the first season and Bergman

Yes. Kids. In a closed environment like Alpha, with folks cooped up like dogs in a kennel, eventually, it's gonna happen. I'd like to have seen more with the Menon vessel. What can/could it do?
