Default Shut The Front Door!!

Darren, you had me at that door photo - OMG indeed!

Wonderful to be hearing from you once more; and I'm happy to join others here in hoping that things are looking better in your quadrant of the universe...

May more of those jaw-dropping photos be forthcoming!

Note to akoenig: yet another great avatar! I'm just gonna have to double down on figuring out one of my own; you guys are really throwing down the gauntlet here...

Yeah, what he said!

Even if it's not super-soon, please don't "quit" this one, entirely. By all means, take whatever break you need ... but when you can, keep the awesomeness coming! (If not on this Eagle project, then do you have links to the other new projects you're working on ... to treat them like an "intermission" sorta thing?)

For what it's worth, bud, know that you're inspiring and amazing we lurkers, as well as posters. For myself, know that your confidence in your problem-solving ability, despite all budgetary "odds against," mixed with your evident willingness to learn more as you go, is inspiring in itself. Seeing what can be done with materials that most people would never see possibilities in, knocks me out! And as others have mentioned: blazing trails isn't easy! I admire the desire to "make it all work" (sliding doors inside pockets, as one example) as well. And your solutions to problems like that, whilst not altering the visible design all that much, is something great for like-minded people to see!

Even if you're too busy with other things -- and that happens to us all! -- it occurs to me that people like me might "keep it going" a bit simply by asking you some questions we had, about some things you've already done.

The "chemical metal" product you mentioned early on ... do you have a picture of that, so people like me can locate that product to try out?

Meanwhile, though (having read all of this thread, now, from start to "finish"), you've put up some other awesomely inspiring threads. I'll just have to read them, too, while you're working on other things ...

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...d.php?p=327556

(Link included for others who, like me, had to do searches to find some of the other awesome things Darren has done ... with virtually no cash spent; and with materials that aren't often seen in use, in most other people's projects!)

Anyway ... thanks much for what's already been posted! Loved the "can do" spirit, quite a bit ... and have already begun using things like cereal box cardboard in my own builds ... especially on things like "test models" ...

Default What Friends Are For...

Believe we've all had a bit too much of the known universe on our platter every so often, so we know something of the drill...

So stay in touch, my friend...hmm? You've got plenty of able wingmen out here!

(My 400th post - yea!!!!)

"Panic mode OFF".

I forgot that a person can do a search, as it were, on what other people had posted of late ... (by clicking on their name, off to the left of the actual postings; and choosing the option to look at recent postings) ... and, having done that, I can see he's still On The Job. Just not working on this particular model, at present.

Default Fantastic model

I only a couple of minutes to view first page and reply, but what I've seen so far that it will be a fantastic model when completed. Maybeye you might consider doing some and selling them-if licensing production is practical, of course!

My thanks to you all for your support, guys! Sadly, I just physically do not have the time at present to devote to this build. My order books are filling fast and those orders are taking up my time for now. On a brighter note, one of my soon to be released pieces will be the long awaited domed ceiling/wall sections for the 44" eagle cockpit. I will let you all know the details later this week, hopefully.

Regards,
Darren

Default Order(s) Up!

A belated (but very meant) Happy New Year, my friend!

Sounds like 2014 is already being good to you, with all those orders keeping you busy...

Do stay in touch here, though. Just send us a postcard, drop us a line, every now and then!

Default The Long Game.....

Maybe you'll get back to her again in months or years to come - it'll be worth the wait. Good luck with all of your other projects Darren,

Kindest regards

I've just been going through your thread yet again, and I am blown away with your work. I like the building medium you use. I'm a bit of a plastic sheet and MDF person myself and it is always good to see others like yourself trying something different.
Some of your photos had me fooled as well, and it was hard to tell real from model.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing this project finished.

All the best

Being new to this board, I was eating this thread up like candy only to see it suddenly end (NOOOOOO!). Great stuff, here's another vote to you some day completing it.
