Default 3D printed Moon Buggy

Even before I got my 3D printer, I was eager to model the Moon Buggy so when I got my printer I could make one.

I've had my printer for just about a year now, and this project got put on hold for a while because I was busy designing and building GI Joe toys and gear for a convention in early April.

But with all this new attention on Space 1999, with my modeling of the Konami and Dinky pods, I got re-envigorated.

Today I printed the first full-sized print of the Moon Buggy, printed just about as large as my printer can handle.

It's about 12cm long from front to back.

Way cool! Will you make one for the Konami Eagles, too? THAT would be amazing. And then I need someone who will make Eagle hangar walls in the same scale...

I guess this is the way things are going to go, model in 3D and print. It almost feels like cheating, but it's an incredible technology.

Publishing a book without writing it out long-hand and printing it using reverse type on a Gutenberg is also cheating. Apparently.

It's another form of art.

This one is going to get more and more prevalent as the prices come down and the machines get better. This is like printing your book on a dot matrix printer. Coming soon: Laser Printers.
