I'm afraid to say that it won't be in HD, only SD, as they still haven't located any 35mm film elements yet. Although according to the official Gerry Anderson Facebook page, it does have new grading and film weave reduction.

Watched this last night, very interesting, if not painfully dated now However a very brave attempt to educate at the time and would still work in an updated format. However I think the 'Swiss Family Robinson in space' set up is a little tired now. If memory serves the BBC did a very good drama/documentary of the first deep space mission a few years ago. (complete with 'Alien-esk' green computer log detail subtitles scrolling over the screen. It was very good, but has never been repeated (to my knowledge)

Any way, it was good to see Anderson stalwart, Brian Blessed in conversation with Prof Brian Cox and talking about Space 1999!-YAY!

I enjoyed picking out the bits left over from space 1999 in the set and costumes.

Also enjoyable to see Nick Tate can do other accents....

Default I blinked and nearly missed it....

Thanks to the Forum members who brought this to my attention, otherwise I'd never have caught it. Watched it last night for the first time in THIRTY NINE years - I'd only ever seen it once but remembered a few details very clearly indeed. Yes, it's terribly dated but, I'll be honest, I really enjoyed it - another piece of Anderson magic from my teenage years, only this one actually informed as well as entertained.

Once again, I'm grateful somebody else noticed this was on.

Kindest regards

Patrick

I think I saw it when the exhibition travelled to Alton Towers, Although it wasn't in the exhibition, some of the models ended up in planetarium there!

Made me chuckle when Brian Cox had to correct Brian Blessed who refered to 'Gerry Anderson's Thunderballs'!

So Brian Cox has had a Space 1999 outfit made for him? That was interesting to hear.

He's skinny enough that it probably looks quite good on him. They are not the most forgiving of costumes!
